落地式端面镗铣床广泛使用在大型机加工设备，重型机械行业。端面铣床具有结构牢固、钢性好、灵活性能优越、大型和超大型工件的端平面和槽类铣削、大型工件和钢构件的端面加工、大型钢铸件和铁铸件和端面加工的结构和特点。

  落地式端面镗铣床为整体式结构的端面落地铣床，立柱滑座在床身导轨上移动，铣削头滑板在立柱导轨上、下移动并能轴向移动（可手动、机动），从而最大程度地满足工件的加工范围。铣削头垂直、水平两方向的移动均由一个进给箱通过直流电机或变频电机驱动，电磁离合器转轮箱减速，实现（25~200mm/min）无级进给。本机床可多工位卧式加工超大型电机机座地脚平面，亦可作特长特高形状工件平面或槽的铣削及钻孔。
