ASTM E 84建筑材料的表面燃烧性能测试方法简介：ASTM E 84用于测定建材(包括固体塑料)的火焰传播速率(同时测定生烟性)。ASTM E 84方法适用于暴露的表面，如墙壁和天花板等。按ASTM E 84的规定，隧道法所用设备为一长7.62m、开口端横截面积为0.45m×0.30m的内衬耐火砖的钢槽，槽侧有窗口。

ASTM E 84 Standard Test Method for Surface Burning Characteristics of Building 
Materials scope:This fire-test-response standard for the comparative surface burning behavior of building materials is applicable to exposed surfaces such as walls and ceilings. The test is conducted with the specimen in the ceiling position with the surface to be evaluated exposed face down to the ignition source.
