Tochangethebattery，thelowerTron40Sassemblyisreplacedwithanewone.ThebatterymoduleconsistsofthecompletelowerhalfoftheTron40GPSandistobereplacedevery5.year.Themarkingonthebatterymoduleshowtheexpirydate.AnewbatterycomescompleteandiseasilyreplacedbyopeningtheequatorringbetweenthetopandbottomoftheEPIRB.ThebatterymustbereplacediftheEPIRBisactivatedforanypurposeotherthantest.
Replacingthebatterymoduleshouldbedonebyskilledtechniciansonly-preferablebyaJOTRONagent.YourclosestJOTRONagentwithTronSTATfacilitieshasbeenspeciallytrainedtoperformthenecessaryoperationandisalsoabletodoanextendedtestoftheEPIRB，ensuringthattheEPIRBoperateswithinthespecifications.
1.  RemovetheEPIRBfromitsbracket.
2.  Removetheequatorringbypressingitoutfromthehousing.
3.  SeparatethetwohalvesoftheEPIRBhousing.
4.  Unplugthe6pinconnectorthatcomesfromthelowerEPIRBhousing.
5.  Controlthatthenewbatterymoduleismarkedwithp/n97780andhasanewexpi
     rationdateapproximately5yearsfrompurchase.
6.  Fitanewgasketontopofthebatterymoduleandreconnectthe6pinconnector，be
     surethattheconnectorisfittedproperly.Anoticeable?click?shouldbeheard
     whentheconnectorisinplace.
7.  Pleasemakesurethattheenclosedsilicagelbagisfastenedinsidetheemergency
     product，withthesuppliedstripsinto/betweenholesintheblackcover.
     IMPORTANT:CutthestripsX-96898aftermountingofsilicageltoavoidthestrips
     tocomebetweenrubbergasketandtophousing.
8.  Pleasealsofittheenclosedanticorrosionadhesivetapetotheinsidethebattery
     beforeassemblyoftheunit.
9. OrientatethetwohalvesoftheEPIRBthefollowingway:
     AnorientationtabisfittedonbothhalvesoftheEPIRB，Thesetabsmustbeplaced
     carefullyontopofeachother.
10.Makesurethatthegasketisproperlyinplace，andreplacetheequatorringusing
     aspecialtooltotightenittogether.
11.ReplacetheU-shapedboltandanewsplitpintosecuretheboltintheequator
     ring.
12.RemountEPIRBinitsbracket.

产品性能：TRON40S应急示位标水密性：Tron40S在***少10米水深保持水密；
浮水性：Tron40S能浮水；
坚固、稳定：Tron40S能从30米高处跌入水中而不致损坏。他能抵受海水、油水和阳光的影响；
操作：Tron40S操作容易，设备表面印有简单的操作说明，附有一条20米的系索，可系在救生筏上。
指示灯：Tron40S设有一LED（发光二极管）闪灯，显示设备在功过状态，设备启动后，LED即可每分20次的频率闪亮。
电池单元：电池单元构成Tron40S的整个下半部，应每4年更换，电池单元上标有失效日期。新的电池单元交付时已经完备，更换时只须打开上下半部之间的腰环。
水压单元：FB4型的自动漂浮支架上的水压单元必须每两年更换，失效日期标在水压单元上，更换的单元备有新的螺栓和安装件。
带有频闪灯确认的6种状态自检，可船上维修和编程，MED/FCC认可。
